Hanna Abaata, She/Her
Hanna has her BA in Human Development with a focus in Family Studies from Washington State University and her Master of Social Work degree with a focus in Mental Health from Andrews University in Michigan. Hanna has experience working in community mental health counseling, as well as working with at-risk children providing intensive mental health support. Hanna has experience with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is trained in EMDR and Lifespan Integration. Hanna works with individuals under 21 years of age.
Hanna has over 4 years of experience working in a therapeutic setting with children ranging in ages from 5-14 years. Hanna understands that this is a critical time of life as we build our core beliefs about this world as well as build and maintain our core memories. Through a trauma-focused lens, Hanna provides strength-based and client-centered care as each person has their own unique experiences and thus the treatment should be tailored for each individual and their unique experience. Hanna also has extensive experience working with BIPOC individuals as well as immigrant and refugee children both in a clinical and school-based setting, supporting with the many challenges that are associated with these transitions.
During her free time, Hanna loves to stay active, travel around the world meeting new people and learning about new cultures. Hanna also enjoys all the experiences the PNW has to offer through many outdoor activities in all 4 seasons.
