Shannon Haan, LCSW She/Her
Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who spent most of her 9 years post graduate school working in community mental health with a passion for reducing barriers to comprehensive and client centered care. Shannon believes everyone holds the keys to their own healing inside themselves, and her job is to create a safe and non-judgemental space to help you find them. Shannon has clinical licenses in both OR and WA.
Shannon’s roles in the mental health field allowed her to see clearly how interactions with systemic oppressions cause people harm, in particular those from historically marginalized groups. Shannon has experience working with a diverse range of folks and aims to have her practice embrace diversity in gender, race, sexuality, abilities, and perspectives. As a white person and a cis woman, Shannon seeks to education herself regularly on anti-oppressive perspectives and approaches to inform how she works, and lives. Shannon’s goal is to build a collaborative space with you to work together and create a safe and non-judgemental space for your healing.
Shannon takes an integrative, trauma-informed, harm reduction approach and seeks to help guide you to discover your inner strengths and wisdom. Shannon has worked with folks from different backgrounds and across many areas including anxiety, depression, historic and relational trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, chronic health conditions, grief, psychosis, substance use, and more. Shannon has received training in multiple approaches which she uses in her practice including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Mindfulness-based practices. Shannon is currently part of a group studying Internal Family Systems and parts work to apply this lens and techniques to her approach. Shannon also understands healing through a somatic lens, centering the experience of our bodies and the wisdom they hold. Shannon will be working on becoming trained in EMDR and LI over the next 6 months.
Shannon believes it is her honor to hold space for the stories of others and would love to support you in navigating and understanding yours.
During her free time, Shannon loves to be cozy at home with a book and a cup of tea, spend time with friends, play board games, go dancing, swimming, traveling, and spend as much time in nature as possible.
