Carli Barnum, She/Her
Carli is a bilingual mental health counselor with a rich background in both education and international service. Carli earned her undergraduate degree in Family and Human Services with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Oregon. Post-graduation Carli joined the Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic, where she collaborated with local school counselors to enhance sex education curricula. She then spent six years in a rural community working on potable water and hygiene projects for elementary schools along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic.
Upon returning to Las Vegas, Carli pursued her Master of Education in School Counseling and an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her unique experiences have shaped her holistic approach to counseling, emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity, skill sharing and inclusivity.
Carli works with individuals, couples, and families. She believes sustainable change is achieved by integrating therapeutic insights into daily life through new, transformative experiences. She employs a strength-based approach drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, and Parts and Memory Therapy to create tailored, client-centered sessions.
Outside of her professional life, Carli is a devoted mother of two young children. She enjoys gardening, creating mosaics, and participating in her book club.
